On Saturday, April 18th Cage Titans heads back to Plymouth Memorial Hall for its second event of the year. The fight card will be headlined by the long awaited showdown between 145lb champion Frank Sforza defending his title against Taylor Trahan. This fight has been 6 months in the making and both fighters are itching to get inside the cage with one an other. Back at the event in August, following an impressive Sforza 1st round victory, the two were brought inside the cage to announce the title fight but unfortunately scheduling conflicts and injuries prevented the bout from taking place…Untill now!  Sforza, a dominate wrestler with a smothering ground game, typically likes to get the fight to the mat quickly and finish his foes there, as 5 out of his 7 career victories have come by way of either ground and pound stoppage or submission. As for Trahan, he is also known for his ground work, but more as strictly a submission specialist, and the BJJ purple belt has won via submission in 8 out of his 11 career wins.  Being a title fight we are scheduled for 5 rounds but needless to say, these guys rarely go to the judges so expect a ton of action and someone being finished in exciting fashion!

In the Co-Main Event, top ranked flyweights #1 Remo Cardarelli and #4 Andy Aiello will battle it out for the top spot in the region. Lauzon MMA’s Aiello has been around this sport for a very long time, having his first fight 12 years ago back in 2002. Over a long career, he has molded himself into a complete fighter capable of competing no matter where the fight ends up. As for Cardarelli, he is the young lion in this match-up and will be looking to knock-off the tough veteran. Cardarelli is what you would call the new breed of MMA fighter, one that has no specific background, and trains all aspects of MMA as one art. Pound for pound you will not find two better or more complete fighters than these guys and this easily has the making of Fight of, not only the night, but the year!

Highlighting the amateur action will be the two best Middleweights in New England facing-off for the vacant Cage Titans 185lb title, with Shane Mulligan and Pat McCrohan going to battle.  These two have been on a collision course since they first started competing at Cage Titans and it was only a matter of time before they squared off inside the cage. Both guys undefeated, both guys huge for the weight and both guys accomplished wrestlers…These fighters could not match-up any more evenly so its truly anyone’s belt and it may come down to simply who wants it more!

Also in action, fan favorite Peter Barrett, ‘Mr Fight of the Night’ Devin Carrier, the pro debut of Manny Bermudez and defending amateur champ Jeff Perez, all in match-ups soon to be released. Be sure to follow along on the Cage Titans FC Fan Page for those announcements as well as specific match-up highlights, new fights added to the card and fighter interviews, each and every day leading up the event.
