Cage Titans kicked off 2016 this past weekend with an amazing event at Plymouth Memorial Hall, recording its 6th sold-out event in a row. The undercard featured many hungry amateurs looking to shine under the bright lights with memorable performances coming from Marty Kelly, Matt Alger, and Sean Murrin as well as an incredible back and forth war between John Douma and Derek Trahan. As for the Main Card, we witnessed the crowning of a new flyweight champion when Rich Santiago silenced the crowd with his stunning first round submission victory over Ryan Kane. Next we saw 155lb champion Joe Giannetti dig deep in his first title defense and come out victorious against a very game opponent in Jose Rivera. And in the final title fight of the night, the two hands-down best fighters in New England went at it from bell to bell when Kris Moutinho and Don Shainis battled to a Majority Draw! Rounding out the card were the pros, with Max Barrett picking up the first round TKO in his professional debut followed by his brother Peter Barrett also winning via stoppage when his opponent didn’t answer the bell for the second round. And finally, in the most anticipated pro match-up of the evening, undefeated pros Manny Bermudez and Dan Dubuque fought a grueling 3 round battle.
