Cage Titans 50, an event so big, we had to split it into two…For the first time ever, a day-night double header taking place on Saturday, November 6th at Plymouth Memorial Hall.

Kicking things off at noon, a day time event featuring some of New England’s youngest and hottest amateur fighters headlined by a massive pro fight between two proven finishers, Zach DiSabatino (7-2, 6 first rounds finishes) and Chance Beck (5-1, 5 finishes).

After sitting on the sidelines for over a year and a half during COVID, Cage Titans returned in a big way last month and now looks to keep that momentum going with a quick turnaround by returning to Plymouth Memorial Hall on Saturday, August 28th. Coming out of the pandemic there has been no shortage of fighters eager to get back in the cage and resume their careers making it a simple decision to host two events in back to back months.

In the Main Event, long time Cage Titans staple ‘Skeletor’ Joe Giannetti (9-4) takes on Michigan’s Darius ‘Solo Beast’ Estell (7-3) in a highly anticipated Lightweight Title Bout. Estell is no stranger to coming in from out of state to take on the hometown hero as in his only Cage Titans appearance of his career, he did just that by handing Giannetti’s teammate Zach DiSabatino his very first loss. In the Co-Main Event that same night, Giannetti was victorious in his own bout and since then, these two have been on each other’s radars. Over two years later, the stars have finally aligned and they now get the opportunity to face-off with the added bonus of the newly vacated Cage Titans 155lb Championship going home with the winner.

As for the Co-Main Event, ‘The Party’ Joe Penafiel (6-3) will take on ‘Suave’ Richie Santiago (8-3). Penafiel made his Cage Titans debut last event and boy what an impression did he make by trashing talking and showboating his way to victory over previously undefeated prospect Pat Gilbride. Ever the showman, immediately after the final bell sounded, he secured a return trip back from Florida by making his way over to the commentating booth and throwing out a challenge. To many people’s surprise, that challenge was answered rather quickly by none other than Cage Titans commentator Richard Santiago, who just so also happens to fight in the same weight-class. Since that very moment it was on, and the two have been trading jabs on social media and seem to have grown a strong disdain for one an other which adds another level of intrigue to this showdown between two extremely skilled bantamweights.

And in the featured lead-in bout to the Main and Co-Main Event, the amateurs take center stage when current, undefeated AM Featherweight Champion Shane Dougherty defends his title for the first time against Xavier Cardona. Cardona made a strong case for himself in his last two fights by finishing both his opponents in the first round and then when Dougherty’s original opponent pulled out this show, Cardona answered the call, no hesitation, with a simple “Hell Yeah, I’m in” so here we are!

We are Cage Titans and We are back. After a crazy year and a half of being away from the cage due to the COVID pandemic, the time is finally here to return to action. What better way to not only welcome people back to the fights, but back to normalcy, than an incredibly stacked fight card from our beautiful home of Plymouth Memorial Hall.

A fight that was originally scheduled to go down pre-COVID finds itself rebooked in the Main Event slot when ‘Shameless’ Don Shainis battles Michigan’s Darius Estell for the Cage Titans Featherweight Championship. Estell is no stranger to coming to Plymouth to take out a hometown hero and plans on fulfilling that role once again. As for Shainis, his goal is simple, capture the featherweight championship as an end cap on his local career and have it catapult him to the next level, the UFC.

Speaking of the UFC, ‘Slippery Pete’ Peter Barrett returns to Cage Titans in the Co-Main event after a stint with the promotion during 2020. His hope is that a big win here could punch his ticket back but standing in his way is a big test in Ali Zebian. Zebian, much like Estell, has traveled to Plymouth before and played crowd silencer and he is thinking that a huge win over a UFC vet may just be exactly what he needs to find himself there by the end of 2021.

And in the featured lead-in bout to the Main and Co-Main Event, two tough as nails competitors throw down when Sean Lally takes on Billy Goff. Violence is the first word that comes to mind when you think of this match-up as both of these brawlers are known for never taking a step backwards and always swinging for the fences, going for a finish in the most brutal of fashions

The first card sees Cage Titans return to Pinz for Cage Titans Combat Night 3, setting the proving ground for a slew of amateurs who are hungry to earn their chance at the bright lights of Plymouth Memorial Hall. Capping the Pinz card of both amateur muay thai and MMA will be a solid main event, as undefeated Connor Matthews from Lauzon MMA takes on returning Alaska-based fighter Kris Berberich. Having made the long trek from the frosty forty-ninth state for last Cage Titans, Berberich was handed a tough loss in a gutsy performance at 155lbs. Asking for a chance to redeem himself at 145, Berberich sees himself lined up with long time Cage Titans battler in Matthews, who seeks to continue his assault on the professional ranks.

Shifting the action back to Plymouth Memorial Hall for the second event, there will be a plethora of amateur titles in both MMA and Muay Thai being contested for. The lightweight title will be up for grabs as grappling powerhouse Dion Rubio faces Evolution Athletix hatchetman Mohammad Al Kinani in a potential Cage Titans classic. In 135lb action, Kam Arnold and Arthur Mpofu will battle for the now vacant 135lb strap; seeking to hold the single most illustrious belt in the promotions history. Finally, on the amateur side, the first Cage Titans Amateur Muay Thai title is on the line, as crowd favorite Shaun Shubert faces newcomer Jordan MacFarlane for the right to claim the new title.

On the professional side Saturday we’re treated to a worthy co-main and main event; bouts that will single-handedly sell out this epic show. In the co-main event, full-time fighter and part-time commentator Jay Perrin will defend his 135lb Professional title against world-travelling leg lock specialist Bendy Casimir in a nail-biting contest. Finally, one of the proudest products of Cage Titans, “Shameless” Don Shainis will look to hoist his first title as a professional, taking on hometown spoiler, Michigan Top Team’s Darius Estell.

All these bouts, plus a cavalcade of hungry lions on the undercard await to entertain in this two part April event.

2020 marks Cage Titans’ 10th year in business and in celebration, they are kicking off the monumental year in a huge way with arguably its biggest and most stacked event ever. This epic 22 fight, fight card will have a little bit of everything from first time amateur debuts testing the waters to rising stars with UFC aspirations to returning UFC veterans with hopes of getting back, and in the Main Event slot, two long time New England staples squaring off in a dream match-up for fans of the regional scene.

With over 50 fights combined between the two of them, spanning careers that date back well over 10 years, it is amazing that Kin Moy and Tateki Matsuda have never crossed paths, though they have both long been consider two of the best Bantamweights in New England. On January 25th that all changes though and for Kin, he hopes that a win over the UFC vet will be the last local win needed to propel him to where Tateki has already been. As for Tateki, the goal is similar and he is eager to get back to the big stage and taking out an opponent of Kin’s caliber could be the rub he needs to do so.

In the Co-Main event, two Cage Titans originals square off when Johnny ‘Cupcakes’ Campbell welcomes Jeff Perez to the Bantamweight division. If you have been around Cage Titans, these two names you should be intimately familiar with as Campbell holds the record for the most amount of fights in the organization with 22 and Perez has had every one of his fights inside the Cage Titans cage, with 14 total bouts between his amateur and pro career. Campbell had an amazing 2019, going 3-0 with 3 finishes, and looks to keep the ball rolling by stopping another high level opponent. As for Perez, he drops to 135lbs for the first time in his career and wants to make a run to the top of the ranks by jumping right into the deep end.

And in the lead-in featured bout, Cage Titans Bantamweight Champion, Jay Perrin, takes on Brazil’s Diego Silva in a 140lb non-title fight. Perrin was last seen competing on Dana White’s Contender Series and though he came up short in earning himself a UFC contract that night, he came back with even more fire and intends to make quick work of Silva. As for Silva, the dangerous BJJ black belt has had an extremely difficult time finding opponents in the US and is thrilled for the opportunity to show off his skills and plans on making an immediate impact and shake up the division by taking out Perrin.
